Becki Newton

Becki Newton was born at New Haven in Connecticut, was born in Guilford located in Connecticut. Her parents are English and Czech heritage. She started performing at local theaters. for European History. In the University of Penn, Newton was a participant in the Alpha Chi Omega sorority. After graduation, Newton then moved to New York City and landed various roles on television in commercials for such companies as the Olive Garden. Newton played Amanda Tanen from 2006-2010 in the comedy drama series Ugly Betty. Newton hosted the Official Ugly Betty podcast with her co-star Michael Urie. Newton also appeared on ABC.com ?Ts Mode After Hours series of webisodes. Ugly Betty, which had 4 seasons of success by the time it ended but was canceled in 2010. The cancellation allowed the show to have a final season. The show premiered in late 2009. Newton performed at the New York City Center Encores! Jerry Zaks was the director of this Gershwin production, Girl Crazy. Her partner Chris Diamantopoulos performed with her as Molly Gray. Newton was also a part of Love Bites, a television series. Cindy Chupack created the hour-long romantic comedy. She also served as an executive producer on Sex and the City. NBC has announced the return of the series in the month of May 2010.However it was cancelled after Newton having announced her pregnancy co-star Jordana Spiro was legally bound to remain on her previous show My Boys (which had been then cancelled) and Chupack's desire to leave the show, Love Bites was pushed back to mid-season.
